Why is my panleukopenia kitten still vomiting after medication?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 4 lbs

My cat is 8 months old and tested to be FPV positive. Why does he keep vomitting even after giving him the medication to stop the problem?

I am so sorry to hear about your cat. If he is suffering from feline panleukopenia this is an aggressive virus that often requires several days of intensive treatment including hospitalization with intravenous fluids to prevent dehydration. I would bring your kitten back in to your vet or to a vet that offers this care if yours does not. You can read more about the disease at http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A
