My dog ate a grape or stalk. Is it poisonous? What symptoms should I watch for?

Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | neutered | 1 year and 6 months old

Jake may have eaten a seedless red grape or the stalk can this cause any problems? How will I know if it is doing so?

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. The toxic dose of grapes is still not well understood and I have seen toxicity with as little as a single grape. Common side effects include vomiting, lethargy, inappetance to name a few. Most commonly the kidneys are affected by grapes. If you suspect that Jake ate a grape, I would contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. It is best to have this addressed since there are still unknowns about grapes and at what dose toxicity can occur. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
