Hair loss in a cat can be due to certain infections like ringworm, bacterial infection, and mites. It can also occur secondary to food or environmental allergies. Flea issues can also cause hair loss. Without examining Micole it is difficult to say what the cause of hair loss is. Using a quality flea preventative like Frontline Plus or Revolution is recommended. You can try to clean the area with a mild oatmeal based shampoo to see if that helps resolve the issue. If it does not get better or the area spreads then you'll need to take Micole to see a veterinarian to have the skin checked for mites and other infections. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach and I hope Micole's issue resolves quickly!
