What is the best at home care for a cat with an ear hematoma?

Hi and thanks for your post on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Ear Hematomas really need to be treated at your local veterinarian's office. The hematoma needs to be lanced, drained, an stitched. If this is not done, it will leave the ear permanently scarred and hardened leaving the ear damaged. Also, ear hematomas are very painful. You may try placing an ice pack covered in a towel on the ear 1-3 times a day until you can see a veterinarian. Best of luck to you!
