What vaccines does my 2-year-old indoor cat need for outdoor access?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 20 lbs

Our cat is primarily indoor but we'd like to allow him outside access with our supervision. How should we vaccinate? He is two years old.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would recommend keeping his FVRCP and Rabies up to date. If you think you will eventually allow him outdoors with out supervision then I would recommend considering the Feline Leukemia vaccine. They can get feline leukemia from fighting with other cats. Also I recommend monthly flea and tick medications for cats that go outside. I recommend Revolution because it also prevents mosquitoes. I hope this helps!
