My dog licked liquid bandage spray. He's thrown up all night and won't eat. I don't have money for a vets visit. Is there anything I can do for him?

Try withholding all food for 24 hours. Allow small amounts of unflavored PediaLyte or similar sugar free electrolyte solution. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts. If the vomiting stops, transition slowly to the regular diet. A bland diet is plain white rice mixed with one of the following: boiled boneless/skinless chicken breast, ground turkey, ground beef (cooked/drained) or cottage cheese. You can serve it warmed or mix in a teaspoon of baby food to stimulate his appetite. Monitor Jack for lethargy, abdominal pain or diarrhea. If the vomiting does not stop or if he doesn't begin to eat, he will need to be seen by a veterinarian. Inquire about payment plans or alternative financing such as Care Credit (www.carecredit.com). You may also be able to obtain financial assistance through Red Rover (www.redrover.org).
