Dog won't sit still for baths? How to calm a hyper dog for bathing.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 7 months and 11 days old | 23.5 lbs

I have a hard time bathing my dog. She can't sit still and always tries to hop out the bath tub. Is there something I can try for her to calm down?

I would try to make bathing fun for Panda. Bring in toys that she likes, and treats you can give her for staying still in the bath. You can also try taking her for a walk before a bath. That will tire her out a bit, and a cool bath will feel good to her if she's hot. Also try to be positive. If you act stressed out because you know it's an ordeal from past baths, she will feed off of that and act accordingly. Finally, be sure to keep the water lukewarm, as if it's too warm, she won't like it.
