My dog chipped a tooth. What can I give him for pain before the vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 12 years and 1 month old

I noticed Booboo had chipped his canine tooth. Is there any pain relief i could get for him until he is able to see the vet?

It would be helpful if you could provide a picture to help determine the extent of the injury, may chips do not expose live, painful nerve tissue. We are not in a position to prescribe any medication at Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach, that can only be done by your treating vet. Oral rinses and application of dog toothpaste to the area are recommended to reduce the risk of infection if he will allow you
