Advantage is safe for kittens 8 weeks and older. Be sure that the product do you get is labeled for kittens eight weeks old as many topical spot on products can be toxic to cats. You can use a flea comb which is a very fine toothed comb to comb her fur and check for fleas or "flea dirt" the reddish brown feces from fleas. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

This will depend on the individual flea medication. There should be a label on the box with recommended age. Many products, such as feline Advantage, are approved for 8 weeks and older but you need to check the label.
