Is it ok to just stick to one flavor of food that way I don't need to transition and everything or is it good to switch it up?

Sticking with one flavor of food is absolutely fine! As long as you are feeding Chloe a balanced commercial dog food, there is no need nutritional or medical need to change her diet regularly. The only times this may become necessary are if she becomes picky and likes a little variety. If this is the case, you may need to try different flavors of food, but as you mention, this requires a transition of 5-7 days of mixing the old and new diets. Personally, I feed my dogs the same food all the time and have not changed foods for them in several years. I hope this helps! :-)

I usually recommend sticking with the same flavor for longer times, it is believed to be better for your dog's health to be on the same food rather than mix several types of foods allergy wise, it can also affect the gastrointestinal tract negatively when you mix too many types of foods.

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Some nutritionists now believe that dogs and cats should be fed different foods because no one food probably has everything that your pet actually needs and requires. So I don't think it's a bad idea to rotate through different foods but you have to be careful whenever switching flavors or brands of foods. Changes should occur slowly over a 1-2 week period, slowly each day increasing the amount of the new food and decreasing the amount of the old food until the switch is completed. I hope this helps and remember when switching, do it very slowly and gradually to prevent gastrointestinal upset. Good luck with Chloe.
