My dog ate Benadryl. Is three 25mg pills safe for a 23kg dog?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | | 48 lbs

Hi, my 23kg dog tore into a package of regular (ie not sinus) Benadryl and ate three 25mg tablets. Wondering if this is an emergency, or he'll simply be knocked out cold tonight (but fine again in the morning)

This would not be enough to cause toxicity and is actually just around the right dose for a 23kg dog, so I would not be concerned at this time. This definitely will make him tired though; so yes, you should expect him to be rather lazy over the next 8-12 hours. Just in case, I'll give you some things to look out for as signs there is a problem with the drug: diarrhea, vomiting, excessively dry mouth, tremors, hyperactivity. If you see any of these, then you should take him to the Vet ASAP. Otherwise, I think you have very little to worry about.
