What are these sores on my puppy's mouth and what should I do?

My puppy has a sore on the bottom of her top flew and its on both sides. Do you have an idea of what this is? Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 10 days old

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to see that Nova is having a problem. Those areas appear to be some type of ulceration of the lip areas. Hard to say what has caused this. Possibilities include infection/viral, trauma, inflammation, toxin or environmental exposure, nutritional problem, etc. If these areas persist or cause problems such as pain, decreased appetite, itching, or if they worsen I would advise having your veterinarian examine Nova. Your vet can examine her and come up with a sound treatment plan to get these areas to heal. Good luck with Nova and I hope these areas resolve soon.
