My dog has a slight cough but seems fine. Should I give Robitussin?

My dog has a very slight cough. Happens about maybe once every 45 minutes is robitussin indicated here. Everything else seems normal good energy good appetite

If everything else other than the once in a while cough seems to be normal, I would not necessarily intervene at this point. If the cough seems to persist for a couple days more, if it gets worse, or if other clinical signs seem to occur in addition, I would consider taking Bruno in to be examined by your veterinarian. While robitussin can be effective in stopping coughing, it may get in the way of making an appropriate diagnosis of the true problem if there is one by not allowing your vet to see what is happening. The most common causes of coughing in young dogs include upper and lower respiratory tract infections, inflammatory conditions of the respiratory tract, allergies, trauma, and structural abnormalities.
