My puppy has an oily, itchy coat. What's the best shampoo for her?

What is the best solution for my puppy's coat? She's a black lab and german shepherd mix and her hair is kind of wiry and gets quite... oily? I guess... and she itches often. I've read that you shouldn't bathe dogs too much but baths seem to be the only thing that calms the itching. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 5 months and 17 days old | 32 lbs

Oh my, Opal Grace is a cutie! I would suggest a tar based medicated shampoo to see if it helps. Lytar is one brand. I would still try not to bathe more than once weekly unless directed to by her vet who has examined her. Be sure that she is current on flea prevention and discuss her itchiness with her vet. If she is itchy at this young age she may be a dog that is going to be prone to allergies and its best to try to find out why early. Good luck!
