My dog's skin is darkening on her belly and armpits. Is this normal?

I have a four year old bullmastiff, she's a red fawn coat, her skin is normally very light, no pattern but the skin on her belly and arm pits goes dark, thoughts?

It is common for the skin to pigment (or turn dark) as they get older. I don't usually get concerned unless there are other symptoms such as itching, licking, redness or flaking. These things can cause the skin to turn dark because of chronic irritation.
