Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 7 months old | 7 lbs

Hey need some advice asap. My cat is breathing super heavy and panting (totally not normal for cats). She meows like she's in distress when picked up and hardly moving. Hair on her back his standing up. Any ideas what could be going on.

Panting is a sign of respiratory distress in cats and is never normal like you have said. I recommend taking Lily to a veterinarian immediately. It can occur secondary to asthma, infectious diseases like FIP, heart disease, blood clots in the lungs, cancer, etc. The veterinarian will most likely recommend x-rays of her chest and blood work to look for these types of illnesses.
