Why is my cat peeing everywhere, aggressive, and pulling fur?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 6 years and 6 months old | 10 lbs

My cat is about 7 years old. She's always had anxiety, but recently has been urinating a lot- and anywhere she can, including in our laps. She misses the litter box, she'll be sitting inside it but pee outside it. She's also very aggressive and pulls out her own fur. What could be going on with her?

She may have a serious medical issue that should be addressed. Many times when cats urinate outside the box, we think it is due to a behavior issue, but more times than not it can be due to an infection, or bladder stones or several other medical issues. I would recommend a trip to the vet to rule these things out and start there.
