What is this fluid-filled bump on my dog's snout? How do I treat it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Female | spayed | 1 year and 2 months old | 50 lbs

I just noticed a bump on the top of my dogs snout. It is solid and kind of looks like it has pus or something in it. It is secreeting some kind of clear fluid. It is the size of a large zit that a human may get. Any ideas on what this could be and how I should treat it?

It appears to be a cyst. I would not worry about it too much. Just keep the area clean and apply a thin layer of Neosporin or other topical antibiotic ointment on it to prevent infection. DO NOT use hydrogen peroxide on it - that will delay healing. If it comes back or does not go completely away you should probably take Piper to your vet for an exam. I hope this helps! Best wishes!
