My cat has sore gums from gingivitis. What can I do at home for pain?

My cat Misha has an appointment to remove some teeth in a couple weeks, but she's displaying signs of stress and being in pain. Is there anything I would have around my house that could alleviate sore gums from gingivitis?

No, do not give any medications to your cat without the advice of your veterinarian. Many OTC medications can be toxic to cats. Contact your veterinarian and ask for pain management or to begin antibiotics before her procedure.
