Why are my puppy's front legs bowed outwards? What can I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Doberman Pinscher | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 19 days old | 66 lbs

My dog, a 7 months dobermann, has his forelegs that aren't in the right position. They should be perpendicular to the floor but instead they tend to be turned in the outside, forming a sort of bottleneck. What can I do to make them in standard again?

Lars is very cute. It looks like he may have a condition called carpal valgus, where the bones in his forelimbs grow at different rates. I would consult a veterinarian to go over options. Surgery may be possible to correct it.
