Hello, a little bit of softer stool can be normal whenever there is a diet change, including when weaning. Their GI tracts are adjusting to something other than milk! However, completely runny diarrhea is *not* normal and would be cause for concern, particularly in small puppies who can dehydrate quickly. Anytime I have a puppy with soft stool I recommend having a fecal sample checked by a vet to look for intestinal parasites - in this case one added benefit being that your vet can tell you if the coccidia was completely treated or if they're still seeing some remain. I hope this helps!
