My dog has a raised, pus-filled scab with bumps. Is it serious?

I just notice a large 1 " strange looking somewhat raised scab on my 6 year old lab Rottweiler mix he's always had allergies and bites and itches at himself but I am worried this looks more like something more serious? It's almost hair follicle sized scaby bumps and pus on the scan itself. I did take a picture of it. It's located on the right upper shoulder. Thanks!

It sounds like he could have a skin infection. The best thing would be to have your vet take a look at him to determine the cause and prescribe medications to treat. He may need an anabiotic and/or a corticosteroid to help treat.
