Best food for cat with kidney disease, IBS, and food allergies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Male | neutered | 6 years and 10 months old | 7.5 lbs

My cat requires renal prescription food due to recently being diagnosed with chronic renal failure. However he also suffers from IBS and has hypoallergenic food. Any help as to what is best to give him? Is there any hypoallergenic renal food I can get?

Unfortunately there is no hypoallergenic renal food. If he is doing well on the hypoallergenic diet without the need of additional medication then I would advise keeping him on that diet and not switch him to a renal food. The main thing I would recommend to do is to put him on the wet form of that diet only, without dry kibbles.
