Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Female | spayed | 8 years and 6 months old
My 8 1/2year old Rottwieller has lost all her energy and sleeps most of the time. She is basically a house dog since a leg operation when she was 2 and got used to being in the house during her recuperation time, several times in the last few weeks she has got up in the middle of the night wanting to go outside and when we have been late getting to the door she has vomited. She has always been very good and no accidents when inside so she obviously could not hold it back.

Poor Kacie! When a dog ages, it is typical they slow down a bit more, but it's not normal that she has lost all her energy and sleeps all the time. Vomiting every day isn't normal as well. She could have a few things going on with her, all of which do require a trip to the vet for an exam. She could be suffering from arthritis, which makes it more painful for her to move around, thus leading her to lose energy and sleep more. The vomiting could be caused by many things, such as organ disease, infection, systemic illness, or cancer. Systemic illness, infection, organ disease, and cancer would all cause her to lose energy and sleep more. I would take her into the vet today for an exam. The vet can do a physical exam, routine blood tests, and a urinalysis to see what may be causing all her symptoms. X-rays may also be done to see if she has arthritis and to see if she possibly has cancer. Once the cause has been found, the vet can institute an appropriate treatment.
