How many times should a puppy take a bath? Is there a specific effect if they take a bath everyday?

It's not recommended to bath a puppy before the age of 3 months unless absolutely necessary. After the age of 3 months it is recommended to bath not more than once a month. Everyday is a big no, it will cause your puppy severe skin problems.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Unless she is covered in dirt or urine/poop every 2 weeks or longer is fine for bathing. How often you bathe depends on how dirty or stinky Rango is. Bathing too much can dry out the skin. Have a great day!

Thanks for the question. Dogs really only need to be bathed when they are dirty. If they are bathed frequently, it can be drying to the skin. Once a month does not seem excessive, however, if they are not outside getting dirty, you could probably get away with bathing less. I hope this answers your question.

I'm glad to hear that Buddy was so well-behaved for his grooming appointment! This will make life much easier as he grows up! I generally recommend bathing dogs no more often than every 2 weeks, but most dogs only need to be bathed every 1-2 months depending upon their coat. Unless Buddy rolls in a mud puddle or becomes overly smelly, you should not need to bathe him before his next grooming appointment. Bathing too frequently can cause the skin to dry out. I hope this helps!
