Why is my cat over-grooming, causing hair loss and bald spots?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 5 years and 6 months old

Josie's been over-grooming in certain area's causing extreme hair thinning to the point I see pink underneath.No flea activity. Any ideas??

Over grooming can be caused by stress or anxiety. You could try some Feliway spray or diffuser and see if that helps. She might also need an anti-anxiety medication, like Prozac. You could talk to your vet about prescribing.
