My dog is itching with dandruff; vet says no bath, what now?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | 2 months and 25 days old

My pet dog ig always itching his body and i came to know that he is having dandruff.But my vet told me not to give him a bath just to sponge his body with lukewarm water and dettol anteseptic liquid. Now what would i do? Plz help me

If he is itchy and losing hair then he could have a mite called demodex, skin infection, or ringworm. Your vet should do a skin scrape to look for mites and a fungal culture for ringworm. He may need medications depending on the results of the testing and your vet can prescribe. You could bathe him with a moisturizing dog shampoo, just don't bathe him too frequently.
