My cat had surgery. How should her incision look? Should I clean it?

Hello! K just had surgery on Wednesday to remove a pistachio shell from her small intestine. She seems to be recovering well and is taking antibiotics but we were wondering how the incision should be looking at this point. Should we rinse it with water to get rid of the lint? Is it becoming infected or does it look healthy? Thanks in advance!

That incision site looks absolutely great! There is no evidence of swelling or infection. Keep up the great work! It is not necessary to rinse the area or disinfect the area with anything at this time. You run the risk of disturbing the incision site this way, and also moisture will promote bacterial colonization. Hope this helps!
