Why is my kitten's ear still waxy after ear mite treatment?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 17 days old | 8.3 lbs

My kitten used to scratch his ears because of ear mites. I've treated him with Revolution and the scratching has stopped, however there is still wax in his ears, even after i clean them.

Sometimes ear mites can cause infection as they damage the skin. This can lead to over production of ear wax. I would have Toby examined by the vet and they can prescribe drops. Otherwise you could try using a liquid ear cleaner and cotton wool to clean the ears.
