My dog has a skin rash. What causes it and when should I see a vet?

I can't diagnose the exact cause of this rash but a bacterial infection, fungal disease, severe contact allergy and even cancer is possible. Turbo needs to get evaluated by his veterinarian as this could become much worse, especially if it is infected, and most over the counter products are ineffective once a rash becomes this large.

    There are many potential causes of a rash like that. It could be a contact hypersensitivity, a bacterial infection, or related to an external parasite like fleas. While I wouldn't necessarily say that it is serious, I do think you should make an appointment with your veterinarian to have your dog examined.
