My dog has sudden, smelly farts. What causes dog gas and how to help?

Pet's info: Dog | Rhodesian Ridgeback | Female | spayed | 10 months and 27 days old | 100 lbs

My dog has the worst farts I have ever smelt in my life! Nothing has changed in her diet, she has just recently been farting all the time! What do I do it is horrible!!!

Hahaha. Gas is the worse. It is possible she is getting into something in the yard or the house. Also her diet might be causing the gas. I would recommend trying a different food and switch it slowly over a week.

    Try adding in a veterinary probiotic such as ProStora, ProViable or FortiFlora. These products may promote gut health. It is may be diet related. Even though she is being fed the same food, it is possible the manufacturer has changed the formulation. Check the ingredients for common culprits of gas (peas, beans, soybeans or dairy products). Intestinal parasites and dietary indiscretion (without your knowledge) may also cause gas in dogs.
