Cat vomiting, diarrhea, weak, and vets are closed. What can I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | 10 lbs

My cat who is about a bit over a year old gas vomited a few times since yesterday. Today he also has diahreaa accompanied by being weak and not much energy. He puked up food before but now it's clear and a bit foamy. No vets are open in my area and I need to know what I can do to help. He is drinking water some.

I'm sorry Kip is sick. He should be seen by a veterinarian tomorrow when they are open. He could have gastroenteritis, intestinal parasites, dysbiosis, or potentially a foreign body. They can give him something to help with the vomiting and diarrhea and any other issues they may find. It's good he is drinking water. There isn't anything over the counter that he can have. If he goes a couple hours without vomiting, you can try feeding him a bland diet of scrambled eggs or boiled chicken.
