Why is my puppy eating poop? What are permanent solutions?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 16 days old | 55.5 lbs

My dog is 4 1/5 months old male labrador retriever. He is active but the problem is he is eating is own poop when left free...I have no idea what to do...Can you give some permanent solutions

Puppies will eat their stool because of boredom, curiosity or in an attempt to balance a nutritional deficiency. They typically outgrow the behavior by about one year of age. You can help by picking up stool immediately. Walk him on a leash to steer him away from animal droppings. You can also purchase a food additive such as FOR-BID from your veterinarian or at most pet stores. This powder is mixed into food and imparts a bitter taste to the stool.
