Why is my 6-week-old kitten scratching red, crusted ear patches?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1lb

I have a 6 week old stray kitten, she has two red now crusted over patches near her ear she keeps scratching. What could this be?

Ear mites or ringworm are possible. Ear mites are more likely. Follow up with your veterinarian and discuss ear cytology. If she does have mites, they can be treated easily with ear drops. I prefer Tresaderm for ear mites.
