My dog is drinking excessive water after surgery. Is it normal?

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Female | spayed | 6 years and 3 months old | 14.5 lbs

My dog had palate and nostril surgery yesterday she's home now seems bright and has been eating but I've noticed she keeps drinking water a lot more than usual is this normal or should I be worried ?

As long as she is able to completely swallow the water and has no other signs of a fever (lethargy, hot ears, panting, vomiting, restless behaviour) I would not be overly concerned. This may be a side effect of the anaesthetic or even the medication she has been prescribed. Continue to monitor for any additional signs
