My cat has a red bald patch on its tail with pus. What should I do?

Hello there is a red patch of skin.. And a little bald patch on the left side of his tail on my cat. It's just one area and I just realized there was pus or liquid coming out, would you recommend what I can put on it.. looks like a red irritated bald patch area on his tail, any answer would be appreciated thank you so much- Tania.
