Ouch! Poor Bella! While she may have had her eye injured, it also looks as though her third eyelid may have prolapsed (a.k.a. third eyelid gland prolapse or cherry eye). At this point, Bella should visit her vet to have her eye evaluated and stained to determine if she has a scratch or injury on the cornea itself. If this is not present, she may need anti-inflammatory eye medications to help with this inflammation. Ultimately, if she is diagnosed with a cherry eye, surgery is the only successful long term solution. Eye issues can progress fairly rapidly, so be sure to take Bella to the vet today. I hope that she is on the mend soon!
