Noticed a small bald area on my kittens side. It was a little scaly. I bathed him with baby shampoo and all the scaliness went away but of course the bald spot is still there. No redness or sores or even a ring. What should I do? Any treatments at home I can try first?

Thanks for the picture. This bald spot could be caused by a fungal infection (such a ring worm) or a bacterial infection or a mite. Since fungal infections are contagious to humans, I recommend taking him in to your veterinarian to get the area looked at and probably tested, rather than trying things at home first.
