My vet prescribed Nexgard. Is it safe, or could it harm my dog?

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | spayed | 3 months and 30 days old | 4 lbs

My vet prescribed Nexguard as a flea & tick prevention medication. Is it safe? I've heard it harms dogs.

If given at appropriate dosage Nexgard is safe and does not harm dogs at all. In my experience I had few negative feedback regarding efficacy. But overall I consider it a good product.
