Dog has hives after a walk. Is Benadryl enough or should I see a vet?

I took my dog for a walk around the neighborhood today and she started with one hive in her face and now has many I gave her a bath and small dose of Benadryl is that what I should be doing

This is fine, but if this hives continue, she starts having facial swelling, and/or difficulty breathing, then she will need to see a vet immediately as she will need stronger medications such as steroids to control the reaction.

    This is probably an allergic reaction due to an insect bite or a plant outside. those reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the swelling becomes too large or if your dog is lethargic, take her to the vet in order to get an antihistamine injection.
