Why are my unneutered male dogs suddenly peeing indoors? How to stop?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 5 months old | 14 lbs

We currently have two male dogs, both not neutered (Chihuahua and dachshund). The problem is, is that they keep weeing up everything they can but they never used to do this till the dachshund was full grown. they was both house trained and had no problem with house training untill now. Is this a dominance thing? and how can I stop it?

Unfortunately this may only get worse. This is the product of two adult male dogs each trying to mark territory as their own. I know that neutering is difficult for some people to imagine, but in many cases dogs are much more content once neutered. They are not so driven by hormonal urges and are often calmer. Additionally, the risk for cancer later in life goes down significantly. I think it would help a lot in your situation. It would also be important to rule out urinary tract infections, although given wheat you are describing this seems less likely.
