Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | neutered
My dog had a scab appear on his back 3 weeks ago, there was slight hair loss where the scab was. We assumed he was struck by the door while trying to sneak out. The scab has totally healed.. Yesterday we noticed a small bald patch where the scab was and today the patch it significantly bigger. There is no redness or flaky skin, but if we touch the hairless area, more hair comes out. Is this a cause for concern? we treated him for fleas with bravecto a week ago

This is likely normal, and the scab lesion is just healing but the nearby hairs epilate more easily because they are damaged. If this patch starts to spread even more after a few days, or if other hairless patches appear, Eddie may have ringworm or some other skin infection that needs treatment. Your veterinarian may want to do a skin scraping to identify if mites are present, or take hairs for a fungal culture.
