Pet's info: Dog | English Springer Spaniel | Male | unneutered | 9 years and 6 months old
My 9 year old springer spaniel has a small round, soft, black lump / wart below his nose that he's had about 3 months but has recently started growing. Any ideas? He's fine in himself

This lump on Harry could be a benign tumor or it could be a malignant tumor. Unfortunately, malignant tumors are always a possibility in a senior dog. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I would have Harry seen by a vet in the morning to have the lump examined and diagnosed so it can be treated.
