This is common. It may taste bad or you may have forced him to take it. Most likely you could give him another dose with some food but consult your vet first. I am more concerned about what type of worms he has and if you have had a fecal test performed.

Sometimes worms will be visible after deworming. If the vomiting continues and/or you keep seeing them then you should have him examined by a vet for treatment. It would also be a good idea to have a stool sample tested in a few weeks to make sure he doesn't have any remaining parasites.

Vomiting can sometimes be seen as a side effect of many dewormers - as long as she's acting normal otherwise and she only threw up once, it's not likely to be a serious problem. And yes, if she didn't vomit until 2-3 hours after the medication was given, it's likely that it had already been absorbed. If you want to make sure, you can take a stool sample to your vet in a week or two and have it checked for parasites.

After 1-2 hrs most of that medication was absorbed, even though you say some of it in the vomitus. I would not repeat the dosage because it appears that Mikaela may be sensitive to the medication. I would suggest using a different brand of dewormer the next go round, such as Pyrantel Palmoate or Fenbendazole and also make sure you are following the package for the correct dosage amount. You should give the next dosage in 3 days and then again in 2 weeks. Best of luck to you and Mikaela moving forward. Take care.
