Biography
I grew up in Virginia and graduated from the University of Virginia (wahoowa!) with a bachelors in English. After teaching elementary school and coaching middle school sports for a few years, I decided to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. My husband and I moved to Denver and I graduated from the Metropolitan State College of Denver (go Roadrunners!) with a second bachelors in Biology. I was accepted to Colorado State University (go Rams!) and received my degree in veterinary medicine in 2007. After completing a one year internship in emergency medicine and critical care at Anne Arundel Veterinary Emergency Clinic, I have continued to practice general medicine and surgery in the Annapolis, Maryland area for the past 10 years. In 2013 I attained my certification as a canine rehabilitation practitioner from the University of Tennessee. My areas of interest include emergency medicine and critical care, physical therapy, geriatrics, and humane education and outreach.
