Hi my 10 month old Lhasa, 6 lbs, ate a piece of sponge nearly an hour ago. We have him a little bit of pasta but unsure of what else to do.

It depends what was the size of the sponge. Very small piece of sponge should pass through but a bigger chunk may get stuck and cause obstruction in the bowel. The safest thing to do will be making Milo sick, so he will vomit up the sponge. You can contact your day vets or your local emergency service and they will be able to offer you an appointment. If you don't want to do that, you just need to monitor your dog at home for 24-48 hrs. If he starts vomiting, being off food and lethargic, you will have to take him to the vets right away.

If he as piece of sponge large enough to that it could potentially get stuck in his intestines then he needs to get to a vet. If he chewed the sponge and only swallowed tiny pieces of it then he should be fine to pass those through.
