Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed
My cat 4 years old has started to drool excessively today. Her behavior is normal and she still eats. Within minutes, however she will have a small pool of saliva under her. Should i be concerned?

Hi, excessive salivatation can be linked to being in contact with a toxic substance or ulceration inside the mouth. I would recommend that Betsy is checked over, as signs of toxicity can be very subtle and difficult to pick up. Hope this helps !

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Cats can salivate when they are happy, nauseous, or if there’s oral pain/dental disease. Since Fluffy is eating, I don’t suspect it’s nausea. I would take Fluffy to the vet to look at his mouth and teeth and make sure there is nothing that needs to be addressed. Good luck and kisses to Fluffy!
