Depending on the type of parasites, there are OTC or prescription medications that can be used to clear the infection. Submit a stool sample to your veterinarian to diagnose intestinal parasites. Afterwards, the appropriate dewormer can be administered or dispensed. You may need to repeat it in 2 weeks. Most monthly heartworm preventive also protect against the common intestinal parasites, so you should consider getting Pokey on one. Discuss options with your veterinarian.
