My bearded dragon won't eat, drink, or poop. Brumation or impaction?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Reptile | Bearded Dragon | Female | 1lb

My bearded dragon refuses to eat or drink, it’s been about 2 weeks. She is sleepy but still alert and moves occasionally. I haven’t seen any poop in about 2 weeks as well. Is she in brumation or is she impacted ? What can I do to get her back to normal self?

Thanks for reaching out about Apple Jack. Check and correct husbandry first. The environmental temperature needs to be within the POTZ (preferred optimal temperature zone), as if too cold, immune system wanes, appetite and energy decreases and more. Brumation is usually caused by decreasing environmental temperatures, so if temps are consistent, not brumating. If you think she is ill, a veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. If constipated, providing a warm water soak for 5-10 minutes could stimulate defecation. Good luck.
