My bunny has a runny nose, won't eat or drink, and is lethargic.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

She has a runny nose, runny eyes, mucus, loss of appetite. She doesn’t drink water. She has lettuce off and on. She isn’t active. She doesn’t like to be touched in the stomach area, or be picked up. She lives with two other bunnies. Both male. I have another male but he is in a different room. My last rabbit died from this, and she was also a female.

Hi, and thanks for your question. This sign could be compatible with an upper respiratory tract inflammation/infection or possibly to a rhinitis (inflammatory, allergic, infective). A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics may be needed.
